Wormwood is one of the many different species of artemisia found in Europe. Its bitter principle is certainly its most distinctive characteristic. Its fame is due to the wide use that the food industry makes of it to create spirits and liqueurs. Wormwood has the same properties as its cousin: artemisia digestive and purifying, it is capable of inducing the menstrual cycle in women and is an excellent febrifuge. In addition, it is one of the ingredients used in most vermouths. Today it is used in the advanced mixing of bars and speakeasies.
