Bi Lo Chun or Jade Snail Green Tea

Origin: China, Jiangsu
Harvest: April 2024

Bi Lo Chun or Pi Lo Chun is one of the 10 most famous teas, considered second only to Long Jing. It is a classic spring green tea pan fired. Its name means jade snail, in English it is known as Jade Snail tea. The pan fired teas are Chinese teas that have been processed on large pans, similar to a wok.

Here, the expert hands of the tea master have rolled it into large balls the size of an apple by repeatedly passing it on the hot wok. This way, the leaves will maintain their spiral shape.

This particular processing gives the leaves a fresh and intense flavor, sometimes closer to a Japanese green tea than a Chinese one. Its floral and herbaceous aroma makes it recognizable among many teas. The scent emitted by its leaves is very intense. The quality-price ratio is excellent, considering that it is a tea processed by hand and harvested in 2024.
It is undoubtedly one of the best Chinese spring green teas.
