GABA OOLONG AMETHYST BIO
TAIWAN, NANTOU COUNTY, HARVEST 2022

-Charcoal roasted-

Gaba teas are a new type of tea that have the characteristic of having a very high percentage of gamma-aminobutyric acid (Gaba) inside them.
This amino acid has proven beneficial effects on relaxing the nervous system, lowering blood pressure, and decreasing blood glucose. Check out our blog article to learn more.

In addition to having excellent properties, the Gaba oolong teas that Terza Luna offers online have a very pleasant taste that ranges between roasted and hazelnut, with a typical floral undertone of oolong teas.

The organic Gaba Oolong Amethyst is created from the chin shi cultivar and is charcoal roasted, which means that its leaves undergo a very brief roasting process that contributes to giving the infusion a sweeter taste with notes reminiscent of autumn, dark chocolate, and barley coffee.
This charcoal roasted Taiwan tea reminds of Japanese roasted teas like Houjicha or Roasted Kukicha.

The Gaba oolong teas from Terza Luna come from Nantou County, Taiwan. They are grown at around 1500 meters above sea level, in the midst of the Taiwanese mountains. If you want to discover other varieties of Taiwanese teas, you can find them on the dedicated page.

Gaba teas, like many oolong teas, have a low caffeine content, as they come from leaves that are lower on the plant.

For their preparation, we recommend using water with low fixed residue; a Yixing, Chinese, or Taiwanese teapot.
Certainly, gong fu cha is one of the best methods to prepare Gaba oolong tea.

Water at 90°C, 60 seconds or less of infusion, 3-4 g per about 200 ml
