DARJEELING SECOND FLUSH 2023 ORGANIC
-SNOWVIEW RESERVE-

Harvested at the end of May 2023
Altitude 1000 meters
Organic farming

Away from most tea gardens, surrounded by 3 forest reserves and the Murti River, the Snowview garden is born, right in front of the always snowy slopes of the Himalayas (hence the name snowview), in a perfect climate for the growth of excellent tea, at an altitude of 1000 meters, in the Teesta region.

In addition to the many first flush teas that Terza Luna has in its online shop, we also want to offer you a the darjeeling second flush harvested at the end of May 2022 of excellent quality.
Its leaves are rich in golden buds, giving the infusion a particularly velvety taste, with notes of vanilla and cocoa beans and roses in the background.
In these delicate perceptions we find the skill of the tea master called to bring out the potential of these terroirs.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN DARJEELING FIRST FLUSH AND SECOND FLUSH

The Camellia Sinensis plant is an evergreen, meaning it does not lose its leaves during winter but retains them.
But the production of new leaves occurs only 3-4 times a year. The word flush indicates the new leaves that sprout on the tea plant branches.
For Darjeeling teas, this usually happens between March and April, and we talk about first flush then between May and June (second flush) and finally in autumn (autumnal).
The difference between first flush and the others is mainly found in the taste of the infusion.
The darjeeling first flush teas are the most delicate, with floral notes.
The second flush teas are more similar to a classic black tea but still with an unmistakable elegant touch that only teas from this region have.
The autumnal teas are the teas that have received the most rain and sun of all and are very full-bodied.
