Also known as scented myrrh, this resin named Opopanax is born in the warm lowlands south of Ethiopia (Sidamo and Bale), between 250 and 400 meters above sea level. The resin is spontaneously produced from wounds on the bark of this plant, whose size can vary from shrub to medium-sized tree.
In traditional Ethiopian medicine, it is used for its antiseptic properties (especially against intestinal infections), antispasmodic (relaxing) and anti-inflammatory.
