Origin: Jianxi, China, Lu Shan
Harvest: April 2024 Altitude 800m
The Lu Shan Yun Wu is among the most appreciated Chinese green teas for its complex and refined aroma, a sign of unique processing techniques and terroir. It grows in the northern region of Jianxi, bordering Anhui on Mount Lu (Lu Shan). The rest of the name (Yun Wu) means clouds and mist, the tea plantations are often shrouded in it. Therefore, the leaves of Lu Shan tea grow wrapped in frost, naturally shielded from the sun and with a significant temperature difference between day and night at 800 meters above sea level; these conditions are certainly one of the secrets to making it one of the most renowned teas in China and the world. In addition to the terroir, the skill of the tea masters must be highlighted in enhancing what nature gives to this tea.
The Lu Shan Yun Wu tea has a remarkable body, certainly different from Japanese green teas, with velvety and mineral notes that linger in the mouth, hardly becoming sour, rather remaining sweet and floral.
For the preparation of this tea, we recommend, as for all Chinese green teas, the use of a gaiwan, you can find different ones here, in addition to this, water with low fixed residue to enhance the mineral notes of the tea, otherwise covered.
