FILTER COFFEE INFUSION KIT

The alternative to espresso coffee!

Many people find espresso coffee too strong, with a notable acidity that often causes discomfort. Or simply, many find espresso coffee too short and would like it to last longer to enjoy it calmly.

Espresso coffee is not the only way to drink coffee nor the best. There are other extraction methods.
One of these is filter coffee.

WHAT IS FILTER COFFEE?

It is a coffee extraction more similar to a herbal tea, technically called percolation. Ground coffee is placed in a filter and water is poured over it. Slowly, the water will drip into the cup creating a longer and delicate infusion. Just like a herbal tea.

Filter coffee respects the delicate nuances of single-origin coffees more because the water temperature is lower than in espresso coffee. In addition to this, it gives us a delicate, long, but not watered down coffee infusion.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AMERICAN COFFEE AND FILTER COFFEE

So then, many will wonder, what is the difference between American coffee and filter coffee?
American coffee is an espresso coffee with the addition of hot water. Which does not follow any logic if we are looking for a quality and artfully made product.
Filter coffee instead (some call it v60) is a coffee infusion, the grinding of which is a bit coarser than what we are used to.

HOW TO MAKE A CUP OF FILTER OR V60 COFFEE

  • To prepare a good filter coffee, it would be better to have a coarser grind of the beans and less fine than that of espresso
  • Put 12g of ground coffee in the cone filter on top
  • Pour the water (200ml) very slowly for 30 sec.
  • Wait for the water to drip
  • Pour the remaining water over the coffee very slowly

The suitable proportions are 60g per liter.
The container that collects the water has a capacity of 500ml.
The coffee doses calculated above are for making one cup. If you want to make 500ml, you will put 30g of coffee.
