ORGANIC GREEN ANISE

From organic farming

Pimpinella anisum

Origin: India

Format: whole seeds

The plant of green anise is characterized by a herbaceous, hollow and round stem, with leaves that vary depending on their position, toothed lobed, long petiole and larger at the base while small, incised, feathery and with a shorter petiole at the top. The flowers of this medicinal plant are small whitish and arranged in umbels like other umbellifers. The seeds of green anise are small and striated diachenes. One of the Terza Luna spices that should never be missing.

Properties of green anise:

Anethole, the active ingredient present in the plant of anise, is used to produce liqueurs, medicines and aromas generally used in pharmacy and pastry. Among the most famous anise-based liqueurs are anisette, Greek ouzo, and the more common sambuca and Varnelli. Pliny the Elder believed that green anise had the power to induce sleep and preserve the youthfulness of the face.

Anise seeds boast therapeutic properties: carminative, spasmolytic, balsamic. It is no coincidence that this natural plant is used as an antispasmodic, digestive, and stimulant.

Anise facilitates digestive activities and limits bloating, nausea, and vomiting, also exerting an antibacterial and expectorant action. It has a medicinal effect similar to that of fennel, producing very positive effects even in cases of irritated colon. Terza Luna is proud to have this type of spice in its online catalog. Simplicity and lots of health.
