HISTORICAL NOTES

Dill is an aromatic plant whose use dates back to ancient times. Originally from southwest Asia, it can be found in some Egyptian stems, later mentioned several times by the Jews and then by the Romans who made extensive use of it in the kitchen. Dill is not a typically Mediterranean aromatic plant, it is used much more in the East and especially in northern European countries: Scandinavia, Germany, England above all.
