THE DARJEELING FIRST FLUSH 2024 RISHEEHAT

FTGFOP1 DJ7/2024

Harvested in first of may 2024

This year, the Darjeeling harvests have been a bit delayed, due to the colder weather in recent weeks which has slowed down the growth of the leaves of our beloved First Flush 2024.

Along with the classic Seeyok and Monteviot, we have added an exceptional garden to our selection of Darjeeling first flush teas:

Risheehat first flush 2024

The Risheehat tea garden is one of the oldest in the area, founded by the first English who started the first plantations in India from 1850 with plants secretly taken from China.

Before being a tea plantation, it was already a place of worship for the local populations who recognized its special energy, hence the name which means "The place of saints".

Its notes are fresh and delicate fruit (papaya, light touch of red fruits) and white flowers.

Cold brew preparation

Darjeeling teas are fantastic when made cold in cold brew. This type of extraction brings out their complex notes made of multiple layers that overlap.

DARJEELING COLD BREW

Cold brew tea preparation:

  1. Put 15g of tea leaves in a carafe.
  2. Pour room temperature water over it (pouring water over it accelerates the extraction).
  3. Let it infuse in the fridge for at least a couple of hours (taste the liquid occasionally to see how it's progressing).
  4. We suggest serving it in wine glasses!
