The Tea Punch Express of L'Antidoto, a well-known nightlife spot in Trani, is one of the 13 tea-based cocktails created for the Slow Iced Tea Challenge 2017, the event that saw the best bartenders from Bari and Trani compete in creating a cocktail with cold teas from Terza Luna and Kombucha.

For this punch, we tried to enhance the green tea Marrakech Express by first extracting its fruity scents through the maceration process with lemon peels, sugar, and turmeric (a spice widely used in Moroccan cuisine), and then returning it to its original form (cold infusion) to give the drink the flavor of green tea. The alcoholic note comes from a white rum with fine and delicate aromas of ripe fruit and tropical fruit that recall those already present in the tea. The result is a fresh and refreshing beverage to sip on particularly hot days, perhaps nibbling on a tarallo with turmeric. The name "Tea Punch Express" encapsulates the historical evolution of these two beverages that have traveled the same path but on parallel tracks: originally served "sharing" (think of teapots and cups for tea and bowls and cups for punch), today also available "Express," prepared individually to meet the needs of modern days.
