Styrax benzoin

Benzoin is a tree from the Styracaceae family in Southeast Asia: styrax benzoin, which, like many trees, reacts to damage by excreting a liquid resin when its bark is incised, which solidifies upon contact with air.
In the case of benzoin, these are actual drops resembling tears.
The incisions are made during the summer and collected shortly after.
It is a precious resin because these incisions can only be made every 4-5 years, it should be used sparingly, also because its aroma is very intense.

Its use as a resin/medicine is lost in time... today, however, benzoin is a fundamental ingredient in perfumery because it fixes the essences and allows them to be released slowly on the skin, which is why it is used in many perfumes.

Once lit, its aroma is sweet, vanilla-like, warm, and very relaxing. It is the perfect resin for when you come home and want to feel welcome and pampered

HOW TO BURN BENZOIN RESIN?

Being a resin, therefore a solid compound, intense heat is needed to release its fragrance. We recommend using embers or charcoal, which are very easy to use, just light them with a lighter.
