TAI PING HOU KUI

2024 Harvest
Origin: Anhui Province, Tai Ping County.

The Tai Ping Hou Kui is one of the most famous high-quality Chinese green teas. Terza Luna is proud to offer it in its online tea shop. With large and flattened leaves, almost stretched, the Tai Ping Hou Kui tea stands out among many. The large leaves are due to the cultivar of this tea (Shi Da Ye), which undergoes a similar processing to Long Jing Xi Hu. Highly appreciated worldwide for its delicate, sweet, never bitter taste. Definitely an exceptional tea. In 2004, it won the first prize at the China tea exhibit as the best tea.

Preferably prepared by leaving the leaves vertically in cylindrical glass cups. It is a tea that can be infused 3-4 times with the same leaves.

The leaves of this tea normally grow in naturally shaded valleys, which is why, receiving less light, they develop more chlorophyll and fewer tannins (similar to Matcha which, however, is artificially shaded). This is why Tai Ping Hou Kui has such a sweet and never bitter taste.

The high cost of this Chinese tea is due to the fact that its large leaves are processed one by one, and not together like all other teas.
